Genius International Holdings Limited was established in May 2001 in Hong Kong in order to exploit the lucrative biotechnology sector.

In 2002, Genius International signed a joint venture agreement with one of the leading universities in Hong Kong to develop a technique to produce Bone Morphogenetic Proteins (BMPs) as a therapeutic device used for bone fractures and defects.   The new technique will involve the utilization of recombinant DNA and protein engineering technology.
